ASTM A335 P11 Seamless Tube is made up of a carbon steel that has 415MPa minimum tensile strength 220MPa minimum yield strength. The material has high toughness and high wear and tear resistance. The material composes of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium and molybdenum. The composition of the ASME SA335 Grade P11 Crome Pipe provides it with toughness, strength, hardness, wear resistance, hardenability, hot hardness and corrosion resistance properties. Heat treatment is also possible on the ASTM A335 P11 Alloy Steel Pipe products. These are used in spacecraft, turbine blades of jet engines and in nuclear reactors.Transformers and electric motors utilize the magnetic property of the P11 Alloy Steel Welded Pipe Composition and the ferromagnetic characteristics of the material become important in such applications. The chromium content improves the oxidation resistance of the AS P11 Grade Material and the pipes could be used under high oxidizing conditions as well as high temperatures. The elasticity, wear resistance and the strength are due to the molybdenum addition to the pipes. There are ASTM A335 P11 Erw Pipe types which are electric resistance welded and are used in different sets of applications than the seamless pipes. Usually, the seamless pipes and the ERW pipes are interchangeable within applications.
